Comfort Keepers In Home Care is seeking an experienced, capable CEO to lead our agency and its team of approximately 50–55 employees. We help older adults remain independent at home and are looking for a leader who values exceptional care, strong employee relationships, and a well-run business.

Reporting directly to the owner, the CEO will run daily operations, lead our team, and take responsibility for service quality, business growth, and financial performance. You will have authority to make routine business decisions independently within agreed goals, budgets, and policies.

You will work closely with our leadership team to support employees, strengthen operations, and achieve business goals. The owner will retain responsibility for bookkeeping and provide oversight through scheduled check-ins and business reviews.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead agency operations, ensuring dependable care and responsive service.
• Set clear expectations, support employees, and hold the team accountable with professionalism and respect.
• Oversee scheduling, client services, and coordination between office staff and caregivers.
• Work with the leadership team on staffing, retention, employee development, and performance management.
• Address client, family, and employee concerns promptly and follow through to resolution.
• Build relationships with referral partners and support sustainable business growth.
• Use financial reports to manage expenses, overtime, staffing efficiency, and profitability.
• Oversee compliance with applicable regulations, franchise standards, and company policies in collaboration with clinical and administrative personnel.
• Improve processes and ensure responsibilities are clearly assigned and completed.
• Provide the owner with scheduled updates on results, priorities, challenges, and recommended solutions.
• Be available after hours as needed/designated.

Qualifications

• A college degree is required. At least three years of experience running a home care business may substitute for the degree requirement.
• Demonstrated success leading teams, managing operations, and achieving business goals.
• Home care leadership experience is strongly preferred for candidates with a college degree.
• Ability to understand financial reports and make sound decisions about staffing, expenses, and growth.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle difficult conversations constructively, accept feedback, and follow through on commitments.
• A leadership approach that combines accountability with respect and support.
• Comfort using scheduling systems, business software, and performance reports.
• Familiarity with Colorado home care requirements is a plus.

This position is based in Durango and requires an active, visible presence with the team.

Compensation and Benefits

• $75,000–$90,000 annual salary, depending on experience.
