What they need

Who We are:

G Adventures is the world’s largest small-group adventure travel company, and we’ve been making epic travel memories happen on all seven continents for over 30 years. Our mission is simple: to change lives through travel. And not just our travellers’ either. Since day one, our tours have been built to establish meaningful relationships with local communities, directly benefiting the people and places we visit at every step of the way. We also work in collaboration with National Geographic, combining their legendary history of exploration with our expertise in responsible travel!

Are you passionate about travel, your country, and making an IMPACT on the planet? We are hiring and training New Zealand CEOs – Chief Experience Officers (Driver/Guides) to guide and drive our legendary itineraries.

Our DNA revolves around building a diverse culture where everyone brings their authentic self to work. This opportunity requires immense hard work and commitment, but the rewards are unmatched. Your travellers' lives will be changed, and you will grow as a person and a leader. If you are ready to discover every nook and cranny of the country and enjoy a lifestyle of travel, challenges, fun, and global career growth potential, we can’t wait for you to join us.

What You'll Be Doing:

As a CEO, you take ownership of the on-road experience. This is an ever-evolving role requiring high attention to detail, safety, effective communication, and group dynamics. Operating itineraries across both islands that range from 11 to 22 days in length, you will:

  • Safely drive and navigate multi-day itineraries across New Zealand, taking full responsibility for long distances and vehicle safety checks (including tyres and fluids).
  • Bring diverse personalities and cultures together to create community on the road, maximising the traveller experience and showing up with a smile.
  • Deliver engaging, accurate commentary on New Zealand’s history, culture, and landscapes.
  • Proactively handle on-tour administration, local bookings, and trip budgets.
  • Calmly, professionally, and proactively problem-solve, communicating effectively with the operations team, travellers, and suppliers.
  • Actively connect your travellers with our G for Good mission and help fundraise for the Planeterra foundation, ensuring travel leaves a positive footprint.

What You'll Need:

  • The flexibility to spend up to 23 days on tour at a time, including weekends and public holidays.
  • A valid NZ Class 2 Driver’s Licence and Passenger (P) Endorsement (or a willingness to obtain them before the season starts).
  • A current Comprehensive First Aid Certificate (or willingness to get one).
  • Proven leadership skills, sharp problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to stay cool under pressure.
  • Great communication skills across various forms and audiences.
  • The legal right to work in New Zealand.

What We Offer:
We are currently hiring for our next high season, approximately September - May, with opportunities for year-round work.

  • Competitive Pay + Performance Bonuses
  • Full Training and Ongoing Support
  • Consistent Growth: Consistent feedback and 1:1 mentoring.
  • Return Transfer Policy
  • Global Travel Discounts
  • Join a global community of like-minded, passionate people who are all in love with what they do.
  • Make an impact: G Adventures focuses on sustainable and responsible travel. Everything we do globally reflects our core values, and through tourism we make a difference.

Our G Values:

We don't just look for drivers or guides—we look for people who naturally live and breathe our five core values on the road:

  • We Love Changing Lives
  • Lead with Service
  • Embrace the Bizarre
  • Do the Right Thing
  • Love What You Do
