What they need
LAI Group
LAI Group is one of Australia’s leading providers of switchboards, switchrooms, support structures and energy services solutions. Established in 1969, this family‑owned business has grown from a small Adelaide workshop into a national manufacturing group headquartered in South Australia, employing approximately 800 staff across SA, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. The company manufactures industrial switchrooms, switchboards, cabinets and steel fabrication for major mining, energy, transport, infrastructure and defence clients, and is the leading national supplier to the fast-growing data centre industry. LAI Group’s reputation is underpinned by engineering excellence, reliability and innovation.
Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, this newly created role will provide strategic leadership across finance, ICT, cyber security, human resources and workplace health and safety.
Key responsibilities include:
- leading financial strategy, planning, reporting, governance, risk management and commercial performance across the Group;
- providing strategic financial and commercial advice and insights to the Managing Director and company owners to support business growth and profitability;
- overseeing the finance function including budgeting, cash flow, capital management, financial modelling, pricing and performance reporting;
- leading risk management functions, internal controls and the audit regime;
- leading, managing and developing the finance and accounting team;
- leading ICT strategy, ERP optimisation, digital transformation initiatives and cyber security governance;
- providing executive oversight of the human resources and workplace health and safety functions, supporting organisational capability, compliance and culture;
- ensuring legal, regulatory and integrated management system compliance across the organisation.
The successful candidate will bring demonstrated experience in senior finance leadership roles, strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence at executive and board level. Experience in manufacturing, engineering, infrastructure, construction or other project-based environments will be highly regarded, together with strong leadership capabilities and exposure to technology leadership, cyber security and organisational governance.
This is a rare opportunity to join a successful Australian-owned market leader and contribute directly to the strategic direction, growth and long-term success of a nationally recognised business.
