What they need

About Auto Giant

Auto Giant is a large, successful independent automotive dealership with a strong reputation and a commitment to continued growth. We pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional customer experience, building a high-performing team, and operating a financially sound, forward-thinking business.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Controller to join our executive leadership team.

Position Overview

The Chief Financial Officer will oversee all financial aspects of Auto Giant's operations, providing strategic leadership, financial oversight, and operational insight to support the dealership's continued success.

This is a hands-on executive role for someone who can see the big picture while also understanding the details that drive profitability. The ideal candidate is a strong financial leader who can work collaboratively with ownership and department leaders to identify opportunities, improve processes, and support long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Develop and execute financial strategies that support profitability, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth.
  • Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to dealership ownership and executive leadership.
  • Monitor dealership financial performance, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Oversee financial controls, compliance, risk management, and internal accounting procedures.
  • Manage banking relationships, financing arrangements, floorplan financing, and other financial partnerships.
  • Partner with sales, finance, inventory, and operations leadership to improve financial performance across the dealership.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Evaluate financial systems, reporting tools, and processes to identify opportunities for increased efficiency.
  • Support strategic initiatives, business expansion, and long-term financial planning.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in financial leadership, accounting, or a related executive-level position.
  • Automotive dealership experience strongly preferred, particularly within a large independent dealership or dealership group.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial controls.
  • Experience managing banking relationships, lending arrangements, and business financing.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and collaborate with executive leadership.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable business strategies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • CPA or MBA is a plus, but not required.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for more than someone who can manage the books. We want a financial leader who understands how a successful business operates and knows how to help it become even more successful.

Our ideal candidate is:

  • Strategic: Able to think beyond day-to-day accounting and contribute to long-term business decisions.
  • Hands-on: Comfortable digging into the numbers, understanding the details, and solving problems.
  • Collaborative: Enjoys working alongside ownership and operational leaders to achieve shared goals.
  • Accountable: Takes ownership of results and maintains high standards of accuracy and integrity.
  • Growth-minded: Excited about finding new opportunities to improve profitability and support business expansion.

Why Join Auto Giant?
