Chief Maintenance Engineer

Overview

The Hotel Maintenance Engineer ensures the property remains safe, functional, and well‑maintained for guests and staff. This role combines hands‑on technical work with proactive facility management, supporting smooth daily operations and minimizing downtime across all building systems.

Key Responsibilities

Property & Systems Maintenance

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and life‑safety systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair guestroom issues including HVAC units, lighting, outlets, fixtures, locks, appliances, and bathroom components.
• Maintain and repair building infrastructure such as walls, flooring, doors, windows, and ceilings.
• Monitor and maintain pool, spa, and water systems in compliance with health and safety standards.
• Complete work orders promptly with accurate documentation.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with brand standards and local building codes.
• Conduct regular safety checks on fire alarms, sprinklers, emergency lighting, and exit systems.
• Support property readiness for inspections, audits, and regulatory reviews.

Operational Support

• Assist with capital improvement projects, renovations, and vendor coordination.
• Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and replacement parts.
• Respond to guest requests and emergencies with professionalism and urgency.
• Support housekeeping and front desk teams with maintenance‑related needs.

Team & Communication

• Communicate repair status and timelines to management and relevant departments.
• Train staff on basic equipment use, safety procedures, and reporting protocols.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, weekend coverage, and after‑hours emergencies as needed.
• Help team with landscaping cleanup and shuttling as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
