About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Mechanic to join PTC Commercial Corporation in Tondo, Manila City, Metro Manila on a full-time basis. In this strategic leadership position, you will oversee all mechanical operations and technical services, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and efficiency across our workshop facilities. As Chief Mechanic, you will be responsible for managing a team of technicians, maintaining quality standards, and driving continuous improvement in our automotive engineering services. This role is pivotal to our success and directly impacts the satisfaction of our clients and the professional development of our workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage a team of mechanics and technicians, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation
• Oversee all mechanical repairs, maintenance, and diagnostic work to ensure compliance with safety standards and quality specifications
• Conduct inspections of vehicles and equipment, identifying mechanical issues and determining appropriate repair strategies
• Maintain detailed records of all work completed, including labour hours, parts used, and quality control documentation
• Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of workshop equipment and diagnostic tools
• Implement and enforce health and safety protocols within the workshop environment
• Liaise with clients regarding repair estimates, timelines, and technical concerns
• Manage workshop inventory, ordering parts and materials as needed whilst optimising costs
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior mechanics and apprentices
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in automotive mechanical repair and maintenance
• At least 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in an automotive workshop or similar environment
• Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, suspension, braking, and electrical systems
• Proficiency in the use of diagnostic equipment and computer-aided repair systems
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
• Sound knowledge of automotive safety standards, regulations, and best practices
• Proven track record of managing workshop operations, quality control, and customer service
• Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in identifying and resolving mechanical issues
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively
• A valid driver's licence and clean driving record
• Relevant certification or qualification in automotive engineering or mechanical technology (preferred)
