Chief of Data

Company Profile

• Renewable energy company covering retail electricity, batteries, solar development, and plant operations is looking for a Chief Data Officer.

The Role

• Executive-team member owning the company-wide data and AI strategy, aiming for data-driven management centered on renewable energy.
• Lead the "One Data Platform" initiative to integrate and visualize all company data: architecture, pipelines, DataOps/MLOps, self-service analytics, and LLM applications.
• Build data and AI governance (quality, security, privacy, GDPR/APPI compliance, responsible AI policy).
• Lead the Data Management Office (governance, quality, analytics, education teams) and work with business units on AI/ML and BI adoption.

Your Skills

• Experience building and executing a data strategy aligned with corporate strategy.
• Hands-on expertise building and operating data platforms (DWH, data lake, cloud, ETL).
• Practical AI, BI, and analytics experience with proven business impact.
• Deep knowledge of data and AI governance, security, and privacy.
• Proven cross-organizational leadership and strong executive-level communication.
• Business-level English (English only is acceptable; Japanese conversational is a bonus).
• Preferred: CDO or Head of Data experience, generative AI/LLMs, AWS/GCP/Azure, renewable energy or infrastructure domain.
• Stack: Databricks, Python, SQL/BigQuery/Redshift, MLflow/Airflow, Tableau/Looker.
