• We are seeking an experienced and competent maritime professional to join our team as a Chief Officer
• The Chief Officer will play a key role in overseeing the safe navigation and overall operation of the vessel, ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations, and leading a team of deck officers and crew members
• Responsibilities:Navigation and Watchkeeping:Assume overall responsibility for the safe navigation of the vessel during assigned watches
• Ensure adherence to navigational procedures and international regulations
• Safety and Emergency Response:Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures in accordance with maritime regulations
• Lead emergency response drills and activities
• Team Leadership:Provide effective leadership to the deck department, including training and mentoring junior officers and crew
• Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and collaboration
• Cargo Operations:Supervise and coordinate cargo loading and unloading operations
• Ensure proper stowage and securing of cargo in compliance with industry standards
• Documentation and Record Keeping:Maintain accurate navigational records and logs
• Prepare reports and documentation related to vessel operations
• Communication:Maintain clear and effective communication with the Captain, crew members, and relevant shore-based personnel
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless vessel operations
• Security:Implement security measures in accordance with international maritime security protocols
• Conduct regular security drills
• Qualifications:Valid STCW II/2 Chief Mate (Unlimited) certification
• Proven experience as Chief Officer or equivalent on a similar vessel
• Proficiency in the use of navigational and communication equipment
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills
