Perigon Group is proud to be partnering with Auriga Group to appoint an experienced and commercially minded Chief People Officer.
About Auriga
Auriga Group is a leading Australian provider of maritime pilotage, aviation and marine services, supporting some of the nation's most critical shipping, logistics and resource operations. With more than 140 years of operational experience, over 350 employees and a footprint spanning 20 locations across Australia, Auriga plays a vital role in connecting people and products by air and sea. The business operates in highly regulated environments, supporting major ports, mining and resources operations, LNG export facilities and remote logistics services throughout Australia.
Safety, operational excellence and innovation sit at the core of Auriga's success. Through its specialist pilotage, aviation and marine divisions, the organisation delivers essential services across some of Australia's most environmentally sensitive and strategically important waterways and transport networks.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief People Officer will lead the Group's end-to-end People & Culture function and play a key role in shaping organisational performance, capability and culture. The role will partner closely with Executive leaders and the Board on people strategy, governance, workforce planning, industrial relations, leadership development and organisational effectiveness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the development and execution of Auriga's People & Culture strategy, ensuring people initiatives, workforce capability and organisational structures support the company's long-term growth objectives and operational requirements across a geographically dispersed national workforce.
- Partner closely with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board to provide strategic advice on workforce planning, leadership capability, organisational effectiveness, succession planning, culture, remuneration and emerging people-related risks.
- Lead all employee and industrial relations activities across the Group, including enterprise bargaining, workforce consultation, workplace investigations, complex employment matters and stakeholder engagement with unions, regulators and external advisors where required.
- Establish and enhance workforce planning, talent acquisition and succession strategies to ensure Auriga can attract, retain and develop the specialist capability required to support critical maritime, aviation and marine operations across Australia.
- Develop and embed a high-performing culture through the implementation of practical and scalable performance management, employee engagement, leadership development and talent management frameworks that support both business performance and employee growth.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, Law or a related discipline.
- An accomplished executive people leader with substantial experience leading complex People & Culture functions within operational, infrastructure, resources, transport, logistics, aviation, maritime or similarly regulated environments.
- Demonstrated success partnering with CEOs, executive teams and boards to deliver people strategies that support organisational growth, operational performance and long-term business outcomes.
- Deep expertise across employee relations, industrial relations, enterprise bargaining, organisational design and workforce planning, with the ability to balance commercial outcomes with strong people leadership.
- A strategic thinker who remains comfortable operating hands-on when required, bringing credibility, resilience and sound judgement to complex workforce challenges and organisational change initiatives.
Why This Role?
This is a rare opportunity to join Auriga Group at a pivotal stage of growth and maturity, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and Board. You will have the opportunity to shape the organisation's people strategy, strengthen governance and workforce capability frameworks, and influence culture across a nationally dispersed workforce supporting critical maritime, aviation and marine operations. With significant scope across organisational design, industrial relations, talent, leadership and workforce planning, this role offers genuine executive influence and the chance to leave a lasting impact on a growing Australian business.
