Child Care Assistant

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social development
• Ensure the safety of children at all times through vigilant supervision and adherence to safety protocols
• Assist with classroom management, maintaining a clean and organized environment conducive to learning and play
• Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children’s progress, needs, and daily activities
• Support children with daily routines such as meal times, nap times, diapering, and bathroom assistance
• Implement child development instruction strategies aligned with curriculum goals and best practices
• Follow mandated reporting laws to report any concerns related to child safety or well-being promptly

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or similar settings is highly preferred
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education techniques
• Certification in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid) is required or obtainable upon hire
• Familiarity with special education needs and experience working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous
• Strong communication skills for effective parent interaction and teamwork within the childcare environment
• Ability to handle classroom management effectively while demonstrating patience and compassion
• Understanding of mandated reporting laws to ensure compliance with legal requirements for child safety

Pay: $15.00 - $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
