CLASSIFICATION: STUDENT WORKER

JOB TITLE: STUDENT WORKER - KIDS EXPRESS ELEMENTARY AGE

Job Goal:

Interact with children, supervise activities, assist lead teachers with implementing curriculum, mealtimes, classroom cleanliness/organization, sanitization, guiding children in creative play, parent interactions, etc. for youth elementary age

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in CUSD as a high school student
• Must be at least 16 years old
• AZ IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card, if over 18 years of age
• CPR and First Aid
• AZ CBC background check
• Desire to increase knowledge of Elementary Education
• Must meet basic requirements of local childcare regulatory agency
• Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Reliable, organized, and able to follow instructions
• Able to work independently and collaboratively
• Demonstrated adequate verbal and written communication skills as related to job function
• Ability to obtain transportation to and from worksite without district involvement

Learning Outcomes:

• Gain hands-on experience planning and implementing developmentally appropriate lessons across cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language domains
• Strengthen skills in intentional teaching, observation, assessment, and individualized learning
• Learn effective classroom management strategies that promote positive behavior, independence, and emotional regulation
• Mentorship from experienced teachers

Physical Requirements:

• Positions in this classification often require physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, and sitting
• The job involves finger or manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, speaking, hearing, seeing (with correction), and focusing ability
• Employees may be exposed to travel, odors, dust, poor ventilation, workspace restrictions, and loud noises
• The work may require lifting or exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds of force frequently
