Position Summary:

This position is for Summer 2026. Must be available to work Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and special events.

The FBC Childcare Worker is responsible for providing nurturing and high-quality care for children on Sunday mornings and evenings, Wednesday evenings, and for other church-related activities as needed following the guidelines of the First Baptist Church Preschool Ministries Policies.

Essential Duties:

1. Ministry-specific Duties

• Be in the room ready to receive children at least 15 minutes before scheduled activity.
• Nurture and care for the children in your room.
• Teach using the materials prepared and provided by the Minister of Children and Families.
• Work cooperatively with children, families, staff, and church volunteers.
• Maintain check-in/check-out policies for children as well as their toys and supplies.
• Keep teaching space, supplies, and toys clean.
• Make sure all diapers are changed and children who are toilet training are taken to the bathroom.
• At the end of every session, clean and put away all toys, disinfect all surfaces, and place trash outside of the room.
• Display high standards in attitude, outlook, and morals with awareness of the importance of leading by example.

2. Miscellaneous Duties

• Practice excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The physical demands and environmental factors listed below as well as attendance are essential functions for this position.

Physical Requirements:

• Position involves prolonged standing, sitting, walking, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, bending, talking, and listening.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds frequently

Dress Requirements:

• Dress should be appropriate for a church setting.
• No spaghetti straps, short shorts/skirts, or midriffs showing.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Christian commitment
• Must pass a national background check
• Must complete the Protect My Ministry online video course, make a 70 or above on the quiz, have a cleared background check, and comply with the church’s Ministry with Minors Policy
• Must enjoy children and have enthusiasm in helping them discover God’s Word

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with children, preferably in a church setting, is preferred.

Pay: $10.00 per hour
