• BASIC PURPOSE

To provide childcare services for the children of DYS and visiting camp staff as needed.

• ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support all camp policies regarding health and safety of campers.
• Attend and participate in evening programs and spiritual activities as childcare schedule allows

while giving direct support to your assigned counselor and cabin

• Maintain standard of cleanliness in personal grooming and in living quarters.
• Assist with the clean-up of the total camp at the end of each session and at the conclusion of the

summer.

• Assist with other duties as assigned.
• KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
• Report to areas designated for childcare at the agreed upon times.
• Work with parents of children to devise a workable and agreeable schedule for all parties.
• Provide childcare services in an area on camp where you can be seen or supervised, in keeping

with PTM requirements.

• Plan and lead fun activities for children.
• Attend daily chapel with the children if children can and are willing to participate.
• Communicate with parents regarding concerns and/or issues with their children.
• Be certain children are cared for and their needs are attended to.
• Be certain children are safe at all times.
• Return any camp supplies used to their proper location.
• Return any of the children’s supplies to their parents when no longer no longer needed.
• Assist your unit as directed and scheduling allows.
• Assist assigned counselor with camper nighttime procedures.
• PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes

continuous basis

• Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects
• Ability to reach overhead
• Ability to operate telephone
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to operate a computer
• Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information
• Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier,

Printer.
