Childcare Aide/Float

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Childcare Aide/Float to join our child care center. In this vital role, you will provide attentive supervision and nurturing care to children across various classroom settings, ensuring a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment. As a float, you will support multiple small groups and staff members, stepping in where needed to maintain smooth daily operations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on young children’s lives while gaining valuable experience in early childhood education.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote learning, social skills, and emotional development
• Assist with classroom management and behavior guidance following established policies and techniques
• Support teachers with lesson planning, activity setup, and classroom organization to foster a stimulating learning environment
• Ensure the safety of all children by adhering to health and safety protocols, including child supervision at all times
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and daily updates
• Assist with diapering, feeding, nap times, and other routine caregiving tasks for infants and toddlers

Skills

• Willingness to complete background check, certification in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid), mandated reporter, and other required trainings upon hire.
• Strong communication skills for parent interactions and team collaboration
• Ability to work flexibly across different groups as needed, demonstrating adaptability and teamwork
• Prior experience nannying or babysitting young children is beneficial; familiarity with toddler care and infant care is highly valued

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
