Childcare Practitioner

Childcare Practitioner/Modern Apprentice
We are recruiting!

Maxwelltown Playcare are looking for a kind and caring Childcare Practitioner to join our team.

Applicants should be enthusiastic and motivated and have a genuine interest in working with children. Ideally applicants would hold a minimum of a SVQ Level 3 qualification in Childcare and have experience of working in a childcare setting, but this is not essential and may consider hiring a Modern Apprentice for the right applicant.

It is important that the successful applicant has the ability to form warm, responsive relationships with children, their families and the staff team and have a positive, friendly attitude.

We require a confident team member who can show initiative providing rich, play-based learning experiences that inspire curiosity and creativity. They should have a good knowledge of child-led planning processes to help motivate children to engage, progress and lead their learning. Applicants should have good verbal and written communication skills, and have the ability to bring additional skills and experiences to the setting.

Working days: Monday – Friday. Full time, permanent position. We may consider a job share if two applicants were looking for part time and may be able to accommodate working hours of 9am to 3pm.

Closing date for applications – 02/10/2026

All appointments will be subject to successful reference, SSSC registration and PVG Checks
