Children Program Leader

Overview

Lakefield United Church is looking to hire someone 17 years or older to lead the Children' s Program on Sunday mornings .Pay is $20.00 per hour x 2 hours each Sunday . This includes prep time and time with the children.

Must have a Vulnerable Sector Check which could be reimbursed on hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that includes a faith based story, craft and snack time.
• Lead interactive lessons and play sessions that encourage curiosity, creativity, and social interaction
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported
• Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate progress, share insights, and address individual needs
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by adhering to health and safety
• Maintain organized activity materials and classroom environments conducive to learning and fun
• Support children’s emotional development through encouragement, guidance, and positive reinforcement

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is preferred
• Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and team members effectively
• Ability to plan creative activities that align with Lakefield United Church
• Reliable, energetic, and motivated to inspire young learners in a lively setting
