Pay Rate: £13.05–£13.50 per hour
Job Type: Bank / Flexible Shift-Based Work
Setting: Two-Bedded Children’s Residential Home

Make a Difference in a Child’s Life

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve positive outcomes? We are looking for caring, resilient, and dedicated Bank Children’s Support Workers to join our team in a well-established, Ofsted-rated Good children’s residential home in LE3, Leicester.

Our two-bedded home supports children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), providing a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where they can feel valued, build confidence, and develop the skills they need for the future.

This is a shift-based role offering flexible bank work to cover the needs of the home. We are looking for individuals who can adapt to changing situations, build positive relationships, and provide consistent, child-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people within a two-bedded residential setting.
  • Promote emotional wellbeing, positive behaviour, and personal development.
  • Build trusting relationships and provide consistent boundaries and positive role modelling.
  • Support children with daily routines, education, activities, and independent living skills.
  • Respond calmly and professionally to challenging behaviour, using approved de-escalation techniques.
  • Follow individual care plans, behaviour support plans, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Ensure the home remains a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment.
  • Maintain accurate daily records, incident reports, and handovers.
  • Work effectively with colleagues, managers, families, and other professionals to promote positive outcomes.

About You

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Passionate about improving the lives of children and young people.
  • Patient, empathetic, resilient, and emotionally mature.
  • Confident in managing challenging situations while maintaining a calm and consistent approach.
  • Reliable and flexible, with the ability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required.
  • A strong communicator who works well as part of a team.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Previous experience in children's residential care, particularly within an EBD setting, is desirable. Experience in supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs will be an advantage.

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly pay of £13.05–£13.50.
  • Flexible, shift-based bank work.
  • The opportunity to work in an Ofsted-rated Good residential home.
  • A supportive team environment.
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference to children's lives and development.
