  • Ensure robust safeguarding practices are implemented and maintained at all times.

  • Oversee the administration of medication and ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements.
  • Manage budgets, staffing rotas, occupancy levels, and resources effectively to ensure the smooth operation of the home.
  • Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, ensuring the service consistently meets regulatory expectations.
  • Promote a therapeutic and nurturing environment that supports positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and stability for children and young people.
  • Drive continuous improvement and maintain high standards of care and service delivery.

  • Previous management experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, or senior leadership role within residential childcare.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, safeguarding legislation, and Ofsted inspection framework.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and support staff teams.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and reviewing care plans and risk assessments.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management, and trauma-informed care practices.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and maintain compliance within a regulated environment.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to achieve within required timescales).
