Children's Party Host/Hostess

About the Role

Do you love making children smile, creating memorable moments and bringing energy to a room? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

We’re looking for fun, enthusiastic and friendly Party Hosts to join the Monkey Bizness team. You’ll help make every birthday party a fantastic experience for children, parents and guests, from the moment they arrive until the final goodbye.

This is a lively, rewarding and hands-on role where every party is different. You’ll welcome families, lead games and activities, help serve food, keep everything running smoothly and make sure the birthday child feels truly special.

No two days are the same, and you’ll be part of a supportive team that works together to create fun, safe and unforgettable celebrations.

Key Responsibilities

Party Hosting

• Welcome the birthday child, family and party guests with warmth, enthusiasm and a big smile.

• Be the friendly main point of contact for the party family throughout their visit.

• Explain the party schedule and help guests know what to expect.

• Organise children and guests as they move between different areas of the centre.

• Lead fun games, activities and entertainment.

• Encourage children to get involved and enjoy themselves while keeping activities safe and suitable.

• Keep the party running smoothly and on time.

• Communicate any changes or concerns to the Duty Manager.

• Help with birthday cake, candles and singing Happy Birthday.

• Make sure the birthday child feels celebrated and has a truly memorable experience.

Food & Drinks

• Prepare and serve party food in line with company procedures.

• Present food attractively and ensure it is served at the right time.

• Follow all food hygiene, allergen and dietary requirement procedures.

• Take care when handling information about allergies and special dietary needs.

• Keep party tables clean, tidy and ready for guests.

• Work closely with the kitchen and Café/Bar team to ensure food is delivered promptly.

• Pass any food-related questions or concerns to the Duty Manager or kitchen team.

Customer Service

• Provide warm, friendly and attentive service to children, parents and carers.

• Answer questions about the party and Monkey Bizness facilities.

• Check in with the party parent during the booking to make sure everything is going well.

• Respond to questions or concerns calmly and professionally.

• Escalate complaints or issues to the Duty Manager when needed.

• Help every family feel welcome, looked after and confident in the service we provide.

Safety & Supervision

• Follow all Monkey Bizness health and safety procedures.

• Stay alert and aware of children during parties and activities.

• Ensure centre rules are followed and children are moved safely between areas.

• Never leave children unsupervised where supervision is required.

• Report accidents, incidents, safeguarding concerns, hazards or damaged equipment immediately.

• Follow all safeguarding procedures and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

• Help create an environment that is both exciting and safe.

Party Preparation & Cleaning

• Prepare party rooms, tables and equipment before each booking.

• Set up decorations and party items as required.

• Make sure party areas are clean, tidy, welcoming and fully stocked.

• Clear tables and remove rubbish during and after the party.

• Clean and reset party rooms ready for the next celebration.

• Help maintain the overall cleanliness and presentation of the centre.

• Return party equipment to the correct storage areas after use.

About You

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you are:

Experience

Previous experience working with children, hospitality, customer service, entertainment or events would be helpful, but it is not essential.

What matters most is your personality, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Full training and support will be provided.

Experience in any of the following would be an advantage:

• Children’s parties or entertainment

• Leisure or play centres

• Hospitality or food service

• Customer service

• Schools, nurseries or childcare

• Events or entertainment

• Team leadership or activity-based roles

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
