Children's Program Assistant - Resort

Program Assistant wage: $17.95 hr. + $0.50 hr.

Program Assistant Student wage: 16.90 hr. +$0.50hr.

This is a casual, as-needed position requiring flexibility to work during select holidays and peak operational periods, including Christmas and New Year’s, Family Day weekend, March Break, and other holiday weekends as required.

Candidates should be available to work occasional shifts during these periods based on operational needs.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Recreation Program Assistant supports the planning, preparation and delivery of recreation programs and activities for children, youth, families and resort guests at Bayview Wildwood Resort. Working as part of the Recreation team, this position assists with games, crafts, special events and other scheduled activities while helping create a safe, welcoming and engaging environment. The Recreation Program Assistant provides direct supervision during children’s programming, supports program setup and cleanup, and delivers enthusiastic and attentive guest service throughout resort recreation activities.

• Providing positive feedback for parents

Experience

• Some experience working with children and/or youth, such as summer camp, childcare, recreation or resort programming.
• Previous experience assisting with games, crafts, events or organized recreation activities considered an asset.
• Previous resort, hospitality or guest-service experience considered an asset.
• Knowledge
• Basic knowledge of child and youth supervision and safety practices.
• Understanding of the importance of attendance, sign-in/sign-out and participant accountability procedures.
• Basic understanding of accommodating participant allergies, special requirements and individual needs according to established instructions.

Education & Certification

• Pursuing or possessing a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• First Aid and CPR certification considered an asset.
• Education or a related field considered an asset.
