At Human Assist Training and Support Ltd, we believe every child and young person deserves to feel supported, included, and excited about the world around them. We are expanding our dynamic team and seeking enthusiastic Children’s SEN Support Workers who are eager to empower young people with special educational needs to thrive — both in their daily lives and out in the community.
This is more than a job — it’s an adventure filled with purpose. No two days are the same, and every moment is an opportunity to help a young person grow, explore, and succeed.
What You’ll Do
As a Children’s SEN Support Worker, you will:
- Provide personalised 1:1 support for children and young people with a range of special educational needs (including ASD, ADHD, learning difficulties, SEMH, physical or sensory needs).
- Build strong, positive relationships that promote trust, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
- Support young people to access the community, including outings, clubs, social groups, and activities that encourage independence and social development.
- Enable engagement in fun, meaningful activities — from creative play and sports to life-skills learning and sensory exploration.
- Implement creative strategies to support communication, learning, emotional regulation, social interaction, and daily living skills.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to personalised support plans that help each young person achieve their goals.
What We’re Looking For:
We value passion, dedication, and a positive attitude above all else.
We’re looking for people who are:
- Passionate about supporting children and young people with SEN
- Patient, kind, and energetic
- Creative thinkers who enjoy planning and participating in community-based activities
- Excellent communicators with a child-centred focus
- Reliable, adaptable, and eager to learn
- Willing to complete training (provided!) and an enhanced DBS check
- Experience in SEN, childcare, education, or youth support is helpful
