Children's Spanish Program Teacher – Havertown, PA

Spanish Exploradores is looking for a part-time Spanish teacher to join our teaching team in Havertown, PA.

If you enjoy working with children and want a teaching position that is active, creative, and different from a traditional classroom, this could be a great fit. Our instructors help children develop Spanish skills by giving them plenty of opportunities to listen, participate, move, create, and communicate.

The position involves teaching elementary-aged students during afternoon programming.

Your Responsibilities

As a Spanish Program Teacher, you will:

• Teach Spanish to students in Kindergarten through 5th grade
• Lead age-appropriate games, projects, songs, stories, and language activities
• Use Spanish as the primary classroom language
• Help students build vocabulary and confidence through repeated exposure and practice
• Keep children engaged and involved throughout the class
• Manage classroom routines and student behavior
• Follow Spanish Exploradores lesson plans and teaching guidelines
• Prepare supplies and teaching materials
• Create a classroom atmosphere that is welcoming, encouraging, and fun

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced teacher who can confidently lead an elementary Spanish class while keeping students engaged, active, and excited to participate.

The ideal candidate will:

• Speak Spanish fluently or at a very high level
• Be comfortable communicating in English with parents and staff
• Have experience teaching or managing a classroom
• Enjoy working with elementary-aged children
• Be confident leading a group and maintaining appropriate classroom expectations
• Be flexible and able to adapt activities based on the needs and energy level of the group
• Know how to balance structure, classroom management, and fun
• Be creative and enthusiastic about using games, music, movement, and hands-on activities
• Be patient, organized, dependable, and prepared
• Have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license

Spanish teaching experience is preferred, particularly experience working with elementary-aged students. Candidates with a background in elementary education, Spanish education, or another relevant teaching field are encouraged to apply.

Age Group: Kindergarten–5th grade
Hours: Part-time, weekday afternoons
Schedule: After-school hours; specific days and times depend on the program
Pay: $50–$70 per hour

There may be opportunities to pick up additional classes or programs as they become available.

Safety & Clearances

All selected instructors must complete the required background clearances and employment documentation before working with children.

CPR/First Aid certification is preferred, and required safety training must be completed before beginning instruction.
