The Children with Disabilities Team delivers support to children with disabilities either in their own homes or the community

You will assist children to work towards outcomes which could include finding activities to attend within their local communities, understanding challenging behaviours and work towards agreed strategies, starting to develop independent living skills for the future, planning and implementing imaginative activities through play and promoting skills to interact with others.

Other duties include assisting service users who are unable to fully attend to their own personal needs this may include manual handling.

A willingness to work to one’s own initiative, take responsibility and manage any challenges in an appropriate manner is essential, as is an awareness of the issues that affect children with disabilities.
