Chiller Technician

Job Objective

To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of chiller systems at shopping malls and residential properties through daily operational checks, scheduled start-up and shutdown procedures, performance monitoring and routine maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily start-up and shutdown of chiller systems according to approved operating schedules and procedures.
• Monitor chiller plant operations to ensure cooling systems operate efficiently and meet building requirements.
• Check and record operating parameters, including temperature, pressure, water levels and equipment status.
• Conduct daily inspections of chillers, pumps, cooling towers, valves and related HVAC equipment.
• Ensure chiller systems are operating properly during mall operating hours and according to the requirements of residential properties.
• Identify abnormal operating conditions, equipment faults and potential breakdowns, and report them promptly.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and routine preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate with the technical team or maintenance contractors for repairs and servicing when required.
• Maintain daily operation logs, inspection checklists and maintenance records.
• Comply with safety procedures and ensure all operational activities follow approved work instructions.
• Carry out other mechanical and facilities maintenance duties as assigned by the immediate superior.

Requirements

• Minimum Certificate, SKM or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Refrigeration or a related technical field.
• Experience in chiller operation, HVAC systems or building facilities maintenance is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of chiller plant operation, pumps, cooling towers and related equipment.
• Able to monitor equipment performance, identify abnormalities and follow operating procedures.
• Willing to work on a rotational shift basis, including weekends and public holidays when required.
• Responsible, attentive and able to work independently or as part of a technical team.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
