Chimney Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chimney Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, cleaning, repairing, and maintaining chimneys and venting systems to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of chimneys, flues, and venting systems to identify blockages, damage, or safety hazards
• Perform chimney cleaning using specialized tools and techniques to remove soot, creosote buildup, and debris
• Repair or replace damaged chimney components including liners, caps, bricks, mortar joints, and flashing
• Install new chimney systems or upgrade existing structures in accordance with building codes and safety regulations
• Interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate work execution
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and masonry equipment effectively for various repair and installation tasks
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols during all phases of work to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction estimating, masonry work, or related trades such as rebar installation, concrete finishing, or stone masonry
• Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation of construction plans and schematics
• Hands-on experience with building materials including bricklaying, stucco, drywall, metal stud framing, tile laying, and roofing
• Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools commonly used in masonry and construction projects
• Familiarity with safety procedures specific to construction sites and working at heights on scaffolding or ladders
• Ability to interpret technical drawings related to chimney systems and building specifications
• Construction site experience with a focus on renovation or restoration projects is highly desirable
