Chinese Chef (ALAUSA/IKEJA)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Chinese Chef to join our fine-dining restaurant. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing authentic, high-quality Chinese dishes while maintaining excellent standards of taste, presentation, hygiene, and consistency.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of Chinese cuisine, experience working in a professional restaurant or hotel kitchen, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multicultural kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a wide range of authentic Chinese dishes to established recipes and quality standards.
• Ensure consistency in taste, portion size, presentation, and food quality.
• Prepare ingredients, sauces, marinades, stocks, and other kitchen components required for Chinese cuisine.
• Maintain high standards of food presentation suitable for a fine-dining restaurant.
• Ensure proper food handling, storage, preparation, and hygiene procedures are followed at all times.
• Monitor food quality and freshness and report any issues to the Kitchen Manager/Head Chef.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workstation and kitchen equipment.
• Control food wastage and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
• Assist with menu development, recipe improvement, and introduction of new Chinese dishes where required.
• Work closely with other chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
• Follow kitchen schedules, production plans, and portion-control standards.
• Ensure all equipment and utensils are used safely and maintained properly.
• Comply with company policies, food safety regulations, and restaurant operating standards.
• Support training and knowledge-sharing with junior kitchen staff when required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3–5 years' experience as a Chinese Chef in a reputable restaurant, hotel, or fine-dining establishment.
• Strong knowledge of traditional and contemporary Chinese cuisine.
• Demonstrable ability to prepare Chinese dishes to a high professional standard.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen sanitation.
• Strong knife skills and knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques and equipment.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain consistency during busy service periods.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly in food presentation and portion control.
• Culinary training or relevant professional certification is an added advantage.
• Experience working in a multicultural kitchen environment is an advantage.

Pay: ₦200,000.00 - ₦350,000.00 per month
