Chinese Speaker / Site Admin

About the role

We are looking for a Chinese-speaking staff member based in Semarang to support the project team, particularly Chinese personnel, during the development and construction of our manufacturing facility. The main responsibilities will be to provide Mandarin–Indonesian and/or Mandarin–English translation and interpretation at the project site, assist communication between Chinese personnel and local teams, and handle general administrative work related to the project.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Mandarin–Indonesian and/or Mandarin–English interpretation for Chinese speaking personnel
• Assist with communication between Chinese personnel, contractors, consultants, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Translate documents, emails, messages, instructions, meeting notes, and other project-related materials when required
• Accompany Chinese personnel during site visits, meetings, inspections, and coordination activities
• Help ensure that instructions and information are clearly understood by all parties
• Support Chinese personnel with day-to-day coordination at the construction/project site
• Assist in communicating with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and other project stakeholders
• Help follow up on site-related matters and report relevant updates to the management/project team
• Perform general administrative tasks for the Semarang/Grobogan project team.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain documents, reports, meeting minutes, correspondence, and other records

About you

• Preferably based in Semarang, Central Java, with the ability to regularly travel to the Grobogan project site
• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Indonesian
• Good English communication skills will be an advantage
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work independently and communicate effectively with both Chinese and Indonesian teams
• Comfortable working in a construction/project site environment
• Good administrative and organizational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Willing to travel between Semarang and Grobogan as required
• Previous experience as a Chinese Translator, Interpreter, Site Admin, Project Admin, or similar role
