About the role

We are seeking a skilled Chinese Translator to join our administration and office support team at Green Gold Energy (Thailand) Limited. This is a full-time position based in Thalang, Phuket, where you will play a vital role in facilitating effective communication between our international operations and Chinese-speaking stakeholders. As a translator, you will be instrumental in ensuring accurate and culturally appropriate translation of documents, correspondence, and communications, thereby supporting the smooth execution of our business operations and strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Translating documents, emails, reports and correspondence from English to Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese as required)
• Translating Chinese language communications into English for internal stakeholders and business operations
• Providing interpretation services during meetings, conference calls and negotiations with Chinese-speaking clients and partners
• Ensuring all translations maintain accuracy, consistency and cultural appropriateness in both language and tone
• Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive business information during translation work
• Assisting with the organisation and coordination of multilingual documentation and records
• Supporting the administrative team in managing communication with international partners and suppliers
• Liaising with various departments to clarify technical terms and context to ensure precise translations

What we're looking for

• Fluency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese), with native or near-native proficiency
• Proven experience as a translator or in a related translation role, preferably within a corporate or energy sector environment
• Excellent written communication skills in both English and Chinese
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate translations under tight deadlines
• Familiarity with translation tools and software is advantageous
• Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with colleagues from different departments
• Understanding of business terminology and energy industry-specific language is preferred
• Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential and sensitive business materials
• High level of organisational skills and time management capabilities
