What they need
About GMC
Great Minds Chiropractic works with people of all ages and backgrounds to support their health and wellbeing. With eight clinics across Taranaki, Manawatū and Horowhenua, GMC combines the support of a wider team with the strong local relationships that come from working closely with our communities.
You’ll be the person helping keep the Hāwera clinic running smoothly, making sure patients are looked after, supporting our chiropractors and staying on top of the detail that keeps a busy practice working well.
Alongside the clinic role, you’ll also coordinate social media content across GMC’s eight clinics and support community events and outreach across Hāwera, Stratford and New Plymouth.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys variety and takes ownership, someone who notices what needs doing, follows things through and takes pride in doing things properly.
The role
Your clinic responsibilities will include:
- welcoming patients and managing check-in and check-out
- managing appointments, bookings and patient communications
- supporting chiropractors to keep patient flow running smoothly
- maintaining accurate patient records and clinic administration
- processing payments, balancing and debtor follow-up
- helping maintain a professional, organised and welcoming clinic environment
- keeping on top of daily and weekly tasks, reports and general administration.
You’ll also spend approximately five hours each week supporting GMC’s marketing and community activity, including:
- planning, creating and scheduling social media content
- helping capture authentic content from our chiropractors and clinics
- maintaining an organised content calendar
- supporting community events, expos and public talks across Hāwera, Stratford and New Plymouth
- organising promotional materials, staffing and practical event arrangements
- helping identify opportunities for GMC to connect with local communities.
There will also be occasional weekend expos and events, so some flexibility outside normal clinic hours will be required.
About you
You don’t need to have worked in chiropractic before. What matters more is that you’re capable, organised and comfortable taking responsibility.
You’ll probably be someone who:
- is warm, confident and genuinely good with people
- is highly reliable and follows things through
- can juggle competing priorities without losing the detail
- communicates clearly and professionally
- works well independently and uses initiative
- learns new systems and technology quickly
- writes well and has a good eye for simple, engaging content
- is comfortable using social media, Canva or similar digital tools
- can work with different personalities and keep things moving
- is comfortable with feedback, high standards and a busy environment.
Experience in administration, reception, customer service, coordination, social media or events would all be useful. Experience with healthcare, ACC or booking systems would be an advantage, but it isn’t essential.
For the right person, there may also be scope to provide broader coordination and PA support to the Clinic Director.
Hours
The role combines part-time front-desk hours with approximately five additional hours each week for social media and events coordination.
Current clinic hours are:
Tuesday: 12.30pm–6.30pm
Wednesday: 1.30pm–6.45pm
Friday: 1.00pm–6.00pm
There will also be occasional weekend expos and events, and some flexibility may be required to cover colleagues at GMC clinics in Hāwera, Whanganui, Stratford and New Plymouth. Travel costs are covered.
Getting started
We’re aiming for a mid-October start, with the first two weeks spent training in reception alongside our New Plymouth team before moving fully into the Hāwera role from early November.
If you’re someone who likes people, enjoys being busy and gets satisfaction from keeping things organised and making things happen, we’d love to hear from you.
Please apply with your CV and a cover letter telling us a little about why this role appeals to you.
Other offers great for you!
