CHOCOLATIER'S ASSISTANT

Job Description

We are looking for a full time (37.5+ hours per week) Chocolatier’s Assistant to work with the production team. This role involves scraping and polishing moulds, hand dipping, packaging and general kitchen duties such as cleaning. The successful candidate will be expected to cover other areas of work in the business as required. This is a junior role with potential for advancement to Chocolatier and an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to get started in the confectionary industry.

5 days per week 9am-5:30pm, Monday to Friday with Saturdays worked on a rota. Extra hours will be required at peak times.

ESSENTIALS

• Have an interest in food.
• Enjoy working in a busy kitchen environment where space is limited.
• “Can do” attitude.
• Adhere to food safety guidelines and already hold or be willing to study for the Food Hygiene Certificate as soon as possible.
• Ability to focus on job at hand with good attention to detail.
• To be flexible and willing and able to work extra hours at peak times of the year and when exhibiting at shows.
• Good at record keeping.
• Able to be on your feet all day.
• Clean and clear up as you go.
• Excellent personal hygiene
• Thrive in a small team.

Experience in a kitchen environment would be advantageous but not essential.
