Christmas Packer / Warehouse Assistant – Part-Time or Full-Time

Job Overview

Walker Slater is looking for temporary packers to support our warehouse team during the busy Christmas period.

You’ll help prepare customer orders and stock replenishments for our retail shops, ensuring every item is checked, carefully packed and ready for dispatch. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is organised, reliable and takes pride in their work.

We have both part-time and full-time opportunities available on six-month temporary contracts.

Responsibilities

• Customer orders: Accurately pick, fold, pack and prepare clothing and accessories for shipment, following customer requirements and our presentation standards.
• Retail replenishment: Pick, pack and prepare stock for delivery to our retail shops.
• Receiving deliveries: Check incoming shipments for damage and accuracy against purchase orders, then store items in the correct locations.
• Stock accuracy: Carry out regular stock checks, report discrepancies and assist with stocktakes.
• Quality checks: Inspect products before packing and report any faults or concerns to the appropriate team member.
• Safe working: Follow company health and safety procedures, handle stock safely and help keep the warehouse clean and organised.
• Warehouse systems: Use our warehouse systems to record stock movements and update order statuses accurately.

Skills and Experience

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Ability to carry out lifting and manual handling tasks safely and effectively.
• A reliable approach and willingness to support the team during the busy Christmas period.
• Previous warehouse experience is advantageous, ideally at least one year.
• Experience packing clothing or working in retail is advantageous.
• Confidence folding clothing neatly or gift wrapping would be helpful.
• Experience working in a small company and familiarity with quality control procedures are advantageous.

Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
