Christmas Market Temp – Job Role

Location: Tileyard North, Wakefield
Contract: Temporary Christmas Position
Dates: Monday 23rd November – Monday 21st December 2026
Hours: Mainly Thursday–Sunday, with additional weekday hours as required

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Christmas Market Temp to join our team and help with the day-to-day running of our Christmas Market at Tileyard North.

The market will be running throughout the Christmas period, and we’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a busy, lively environment and is happy to get stuck in wherever needed.

Main Working Hours

The main working hours will be:

• Thursday: 4pm – late
• Friday: 4pm – late
• Saturday: 12pm – late
• Sunday: 12pm – late

Additional hours may be required during the week to help with market set-up, preparation and pack-down.

Key Responsibilities

• Helping with the general day-to-day running of the Christmas Market
• Welcoming and assisting traders and helping them with any queries
• Supporting with trader arrivals, set-up and pack-down
• Helping keep the market area clean, tidy and well presented
• Assisting customers and answering general questions about the market
• Helping to monitor the huts, stalls and communal areas
• Supporting with events, entertainment and activities taking place throughout the market
• Assisting the wider team with any operational tasks required
• Helping to ensure the market runs smoothly and safely
• Being a friendly and approachable point of contact for both traders and visitors

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Friendly, approachable and confident speaking to members of the public
• Reliable and punctual
• Organised and able to work independently
• Comfortable working in a busy and fast-paced environment
• Flexible and happy to help wherever needed
• Confident dealing with traders, customers and members of the team
• Available to work evenings and weekends throughout the Christmas period
• Comfortable working outdoors and in potentially cold/wet weather when required
• Previous events, hospitality, retail or customer service experience would be beneficial but is not essential

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and wants to be involved in the busy atmosphere of a Christmas market throughout the festive season.

Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 30.0 per week
