Position Title: Church Relations Manager

Reports To: Director of Generosity

Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Status: Regular, Full-Time

Position Summary

The Church Relations Manager builds, strengthens, and sustains high-quality relationships between Pregnancy Support Network, its pregnancy centers, and local churches. This highly relational role serves as a trusted ministry liaison to pastors, church staff, ministry leaders, and church members. The manager creates meaningful opportunities for churches to understand the ministry, communicate its mission, pray, serve, give, and advocate for life-affirming support in their communities.

Success in this position requires exceptional communication, consistent follow-through, genuine relationship-building, thoughtful engagement, and strong attention to detail. The manager must accurately track church contacts and commitments, coordinate multiple activities and deadlines, tailor communication to each church, and ensure every interaction reflects warmth, professionalism, gratitude, and the love of Jesus Christ.

Key Responsibilities

Church Relationship Development and Stewardship

· Cultivate and maintain authentic, long-term relationships with pastors, church staff, ministry leaders, church champions, and congregations.

· Learn each church’s culture, priorities, communication preferences, and capacity for involvement so engagement is personal, appropriate, and mutually beneficial.

· Create and carry out intentional contact and follow-up plans for current, new, and prospective church partners.

· Serve as a responsive and dependable point of contact, following through on questions, requests, commitments, and next steps in a timely manner.

· Manage the church champion program for each center to encourage consistent communication and ongoing engagement.

· Identify opportunities to deepen partnerships and re-engage churches that have had limited or inactive involvement.

· Express appreciation regularly and ensure churches understand the impact of their prayers, service, advocacy, and financial support.

Church Communication and Engagement

· Maintain regular, clear, accurate, and audience-appropriate communication with church partners through email, telephone calls, personal visits, presentations, and other approved channels.

· Tailor messages and engagement opportunities to the needs and interests of individual churches rather than relying solely on broad or generic outreach.

· Schedule and conduct church visits, meetings, presentations, speaking engagements, and informational conversations.

· Represent the ministry at church services, events, missions and outreach fairs, small groups, and other appropriate gatherings.

· Prepare organized communication materials, talking points, follow-up correspondence, and ministry updates in collaboration with appropriate staff.

· Collaborate on content for church bulletins, newsletters, websites, social media, announcement slides, and ministry displays.

· Communicate schedule changes, event details, needs, expectations, and follow-up steps promptly and accurately to internal staff and church contacts.

Ministry Education and Spiritual Engagement

· Provide biblically grounded, ministry-approved resources that equip churches to address life-affirming topics with truth, compassion, and grace.

· Coordinate church participation in Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, Baby Bottle Boomerang, baby showers, Giving Trees, prayer initiatives, service projects, collection drives, and other approved ministry opportunities.

· Invite churches into meaningful prayer support and communicate ministry needs and impact while protecting client, donor, and organizational confidentiality.

· Help church leaders connect the ministry’s mission of saving babies, transforming lives, and restoring families with practical congregational engagement.

Volunteer, Advocate, and Donor Engagement

· Identify and connect prospective church-based volunteers, donors, ministry advocates, speakers, prayer partners, and church champions with the appropriate staff member or process.

· Assist church groups in preparing for service projects, donation drives, tours, and engagement activities by clearly communicating expectations, logistics, and deadlines.

· Partner with the Director of Generosity and other staff to coordinate relationship stewardship and avoid duplicate, inconsistent, or missed communication.

· Honor each church’s contribution and encourage involvement that is sustainable, mission-aligned, and appropriate to the church’s interests and capacity.

Coordination, Documentation, and Attention to Detail

· Maintain accurate, current, and complete records of church contacts, conversations, visits, presentations, interests, commitments, participation, and follow-up actions in the designated system.

· Use calendars, task lists, contact records, and other approved tools to manage multiple relationships, deadlines, events, and follow-up items without losing important details.

· Confirm names, titles, dates, locations, attendance expectations, materials, technology needs, and logistical arrangements before meetings or events.

· Proofread communications and materials for accuracy, clarity, tone, grammar, branding, and correct church and contact information before distribution.

· Provide timely internal updates and communicate potential concerns, opportunities, scheduling conflicts, or unmet commitments to the appropriate leader.

· Track engagement activity and prepare accurate reports or summaries as requested to support planning, stewardship, and ministry decision-making.

· Handle sensitive church, donor, volunteer, and ministry information with discretion and in accordance with organizational policies.

Team Collaboration and Ministry Representation

· Collaborate with center leaders, development and generosity staff, communications staff, volunteer staff, and other team members to provide a coordinated church experience.

· Represent Pregnancy Support Network and its pregnancy centers with spiritual maturity, professionalism, warmth, humility, and consistency.

· Participate in staff meetings, ministry events, training, prayer, and planning activities as assigned.

· Perform other duties as assigned that support the mission and effective operation of the ministry.

Qualifications

· Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agreement with the organization’s Statement of Faith and ministry values.

· Regularly attends and is actively connected to a local church.

· Passion for the sanctity of human life and support of the pregnancy center mission.

· Experience in church ministry, relationship development, community outreach, development, communications, or nonprofit relations preferred.

· Demonstrated ability to build trust and maintain strong, respectful relationships with a wide range of churches, leaders, and congregants.

· Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, listening, presentation, and public speaking skills.

· Exceptional attention to detail, organization, accuracy, follow-through, and time management.

· Ability to manage multiple relationships, appointments, events, priorities, and deadlines with limited supervision.

· Ability to communicate with warmth and confidence while adapting messages to different audiences and church traditions.

· Proficiency with email, calendars, Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365, and the ability to learn the organization’s contact-management and reporting systems.

· Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and cross-functionally while keeping appropriate staff informed.

· Good judgment, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality.

· Flexible schedule with availability for occasional evening and weekend church engagements.

· Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel locally to churches and ministry events.

Core Competencies

· Relationship Building: Establishes trust, listens well, understands church needs, and nurtures partnerships over time.

· Engagement: Creates clear and meaningful pathways for churches to pray, serve, give, advocate, and stay connected.

· Communication: Communicates with clarity, warmth, accuracy, responsiveness, and audience awareness.

· Attention to Detail: Accurately manages contact information, schedules, logistics, materials, commitments, and follow-up.

· Follow-Through: Keeps commitments, closes communication loops, and ensures next steps are completed.

· Ministry Representation: Reflects the mission and Christian values of Pregnancy Support Network in conduct, communication, and relationships.
