Job Overview

The Cinema Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operation and performance of the cinema, ensuring excellent customer service and efficient business operations. The role leads frontline teams, manages operational resources and drives service excellence while achieving business goals.

Responsibilities

Operations Management

Manage and participate in the daily operation of the cinema.

Monitor all cinema activities, including ticketing, concessions, ushering and screening operations.

Maintain manpower deployment, staff rosters and film schedules.

Implement, review and continuously improve operational procedures and service standards.

Prepare and analyze operational reports.

Handle operational incidents and emergencies promptly to minimize disruptions.

People Management

Manage recruitment and training of team members.

Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching to enhance team capability and productivity.

Foster a positive and collaborative working environment that promotes teamwork.

Customer Service

Maintain high standards of customer service in all cinema operations.

Professionally handle customer enquiries, feedback and complaints in timely manner.

Monitor service quality and implement action plans to improve customer experience.

Financial & Commercial Management

Monitor operating expenses and review cost control measures.

Manage petty cash and ensure accurate financial records and reporting.

Facilities, Safety & Hygiene Management

Conduct regular inspections of auditoriums, public areas, restrooms and back-of-house facilities.

Coordinate repair and maintenance works to ensure all equipment and facilities remain in good working condition.

Monitor cleanliness, hygiene and housekeeping standards throughout the cinema.

Conduct routine checks on projection, audio-visual and screening equipment, including DCP transfer operations where applicable.

Requirements

Diploma or above in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Retail Management or related disciplines.

Minimum 5 years' supervisory experience in cinema, entertainment, food & beverage or customer service industries.

Experience in operations management, team leadership and customer service management is preferred.
