Help Turn Customer Connectivity Needs Into Working Fiber Solutions
LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing telecommunications infrastructure organization to hire a Circuit Design Engineer for its North Texas team.
This opportunity is designed for someone who understands how fiber and Ethernet services move from a customer order to an install-ready network plan. You will evaluate service requirements, determine how connectivity should travel through the network, reserve the necessary resources, and create the documentation needed by engineering, provisioning, activation, and field teams.
The right candidate will combine technical knowledge with strong attention to detail. You do not need to be a field installer, but you should understand fiber networks, circuit provisioning, Layer 1 and Layer 2 services, and the records required to bring customer connectivity online successfully.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Review customer service requests and develop practical circuit designs
- Determine appropriate fiber routes, equipment paths, ports, optics, VLANs, and IP resources
- Evaluate network capacity and identify potential design or equipment issues before installation
- Build and update circuit records, route information, and equipment details in network systems
- Create network diagrams, technical design documents, and bills of materials
- Confirm that designs and records are accurate across multiple network platforms
- Investigate and correct inconsistencies in route, equipment, inventory, and provisioning information
- Coordinate with network engineers, project managers, provisioning teams, field technicians, and activation resources
- Update designs as project requirements or network conditions change
- Follow established engineering, quality, and documentation standards
What We’re Looking For
- At least three years of experience in circuit design, service provisioning, network engineering, transport engineering, or a related telecommunications function
- Understanding of fiber-optic infrastructure and Ethernet-based services
- Working knowledge of Layer 1 and Layer 2 networking
- Experience assigning or working with ports, optics, VLANs, IP addresses, or transport paths
- Ability to create or interpret circuit diagrams, route maps, equipment records, and technical documentation
- Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, Nokia, Fujitsu, Smartoptics, or comparable network equipment
- Experience with network inventory, mapping, monitoring, or IP address management platforms
- Strong attention to detail when working across multiple records and systems
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple service requests and changing priorities
- Ability to work full-time onsite in Allen, Texas
Helpful Experience
- Dedicated Internet Access services
- Ethernet Private Line and Ethernet Virtual Private Line services
- Carrier Ethernet
- MPLS
- Wavelength services
- Network-to-Network Interface services
- 3-GIS, NetBrain, SolarWinds, IPAM, or similar network platforms
- CCNA, JNCIA, Network+, CFOT, or a related industry certification
Why Consider This Opportunity?
- Contribute directly to the expansion of a growing fiber network
- Help bring new customer services online from initial design through activation
- Work across circuit design, provisioning, engineering, operations, and service delivery
- Gain exposure to carrier-grade equipment and telecommunications technologies
- Join a collaborative team where accurate design work has a visible impact on customer delivery
If you have experience designing, provisioning, or documenting telecommunications circuits and want to help expand critical fiber infrastructure, LHH would welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
