City Driver → Driver

Position Overview: This role involves picking up and delivering freight between Service Centers and customers, supporting sales, and ensuring efficient transportation.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and straight trucks.
• Perform daily safety inspections and trailer hookups.
• Handle freight using motorized/manual equipment, securing cargo appropriately.
• Verify documentation, comply with hazardous material regulations, and manage freight charges.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding deliveries, pickups, and additional business opportunities.
• May perform tire chaining, and substitute as a road driver or dock employee if needed.
• Adhere to all laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills

• Class A CDL with endorsements for doubles/triples, hazardous materials, and tanks.
• At least one year of recent driving experience or completion of a driver development course.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and DOT compliance.
• Ability to perform basic math, lift up to 100 pounds, and work independently or in teams.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.

Working Conditions: Driving in various weather conditions, exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and hazardous materials, with varying hours based on operational needs.
