Civil & Structural (C&S) Engineer - (Contract)

Location: Melaka (2years Contract)

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise all Civil & Structural (C&S) works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, construction methodologies and contract requirements.
• Review structural drawings, shop drawings, method statements and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with consultants, architects, conservation specialists and contractors to resolve structural and construction-related technical issues.
• Monitor structural construction activities to ensure works are executed in accordance with approved engineering standards, statutory requirements and industry best practices.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify workmanship, structural integrity and compliance with approved construction details.
• Review and monitor temporary works, structural strengthening, demolition and restoration methodologies prior to implementation.
• Prepare technical reports, inspection reports, site instructions and engineering documentation as required.
• Assist the Project Manager and Construction Manager in monitoring project progress, identifying risks and implementing corrective measures to maintain project schedules.
• Ensure all Civil & Structural works comply with approved specifications, engineering standards and contractual requirements.
• Coordinate inspections, material approvals, testing and commissioning activities related to Civil & Structural works.

Requirements (Qualifications & Experience)

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Alternatively, candidates with a minimum of 5–8 years of relevant Civil & Structural engineering experience may be considered in lieu of additional professional qualifications.
• Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). Registration with the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) and Professional Engineer (PE) status will be an added advantage.
• Experience in structural assessment, strengthening, restoration methodologies and heritage conservation works will be an added advantage.
• Strong technical knowledge in Civil & Structural engineering and construction practices.
• Applicants with hands-on experience in heritage conservation, restoration or adaptive reuse projects are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Candidates who are residents of Melaka or currently based in Melaka will be given priority consideration due to project requirements and site accessibility.
