Civil Construction Estimator

Overview

In search of an experienced civil construction estimator to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze construction drawings and technical specifications to prepare private and public construction project proposals.
• Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, planswift, excell and other construction management tools to prepare detailed cost proposals.
• Review project plans and specifications to identify potential risks, scope changes, or cost-saving opportunities.
• Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
• Manage project estimates from initial bid through final cost control, ensuring alignment with client budgets and project goals.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to communicate estimates clearly and address any scope or budget concerns.
• Monitor ongoing project costs using spreadsheets and construction management software to ensure adherence to budgets and identify variances early.
• Prepare comprehensive bid packages that include detailed breakdowns of costs, schedules, and assumptions.
• Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and new estimating techniques to continually improve accuracy and efficiency.

Skills

• Proficiency with estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and other construction management tools.
• Strong knowledge of construction specifications, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction plans.
• Excellent negotiation skills with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to secure favorable terms.
• Familiarity with contracts, project management processes, and construction site operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets for detailed cost analysis.
• Effective client communication skills to present estimates clearly and address inquiries professionally.
• Knowledge of construction site safety practices combined with practical construction management experience.

Pay: $40.00 - $70.00 per hour
