Civil Construction Operator/ Laborer

Join our dynamic construction team as a Civil Construction Operator/Laborer and be at the forefront of building infrastructure that shapes communities! In this energetic role, you will operate a variety of heavy equipment, assist with site preparation, and support construction projects from start to finish. Your hands-on skills and mechanical knowledge will drive the success of our projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality every step of the way. Looking for the right person for this position. Ideally as a civil operator, you will contribute to all aspects of civil construction including machine and ground labor work and the ability to use a GPS rover and base station that has been pre setup, to provide elevations and line work to other members of the tem.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery including dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, backhoes, and horizontal drilling equipment to perform earthmoving, grading, paving, and site preparation tasks.
• Use and set-up GPS base station and provide grade marks to other operators.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of construction sites by moving materials, digging trenches, and preparing surfaces for paving or other construction activities.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
• Support team members in executing construction plans accurately by following detailed instructions and project specifications.
• Drive commercial vehicles as needed to transport materials or equipment between sites safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with supervisors to ensure all work adheres to safety standards and project timelines.
• Maintain clear documentation of daily activities, equipment usage, and safety checks to support project tracking.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as dozers (Caterpillar preferred), excavators, loaders, graders, backhoes, and horizontal drills.
• Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor equipment issues and performing basic maintenance.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent for transporting materials or equipment when required.
• Strong understanding of construction processes including paving, site grading, trenching, and earthmoving techniques.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions with physical stamina for demanding tasks.
• Knowledge of safety protocols related to heavy machinery operation and construction site hazards.
• Construction experience in a similar role is highly desirable; familiarity with heavy equipment brands like Caterpillar is a plus.

Pay: $35.00-$42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50.0 – 60.0 per week
