Civil Construction Superintendent

Overview

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Civil Construction Superintendent to lead our projects in the field. You'd be joining a growing local contractor that builds municipal infrastructure across the Okanagan, and work with a supportive team, have real input into how jobs get built, and have room to grow with the company.

As our Civil Superintendent, you'll be the driving force behind our projects. You'll oversee crews, coordinate daily operations, and make sure safety and quality standards are met. Your leadership will directly shape the infrastructure we deliver for our clients. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on, production-driven environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day site operations on projects
• Set crews up each morning and keep them productive and on schedule all day
• Plan ahead: order materials and book layout, trucking, testing and subtrades
• Make sure locates are done and existing utilities are protected before digging
• Lead toolbox talks and FLHAs; enforce site safety
• Be the main contact with inspectors, engineers and the client on site
• Work with the PM on look-ahead schedules, quantities, RFIs and changes
• Submit accurate daily reports, timesheets to the office
• Keep records for as-builts and redlines
• Train and develop foremen and crew members
• Close out jobs: inventory materials and clean up site
• Make sure all work meets WorkSafeBC, MMCD and project specs

Skills

• 5+ years in civil construction, with experience as a superintendent or lead foreman on underground utilities
• Strong pipe-laying background (water, sanitary, storm, conduit)
• Solid knowledge of MMCD, supplementary specs and civil testing requirements
• Excellent trench and heavy equipment safety knowledge
• Production-focused, while staying calm, professional and a clear communicator
• Pays attention to detail and builds it right the first time
• Comfortable with a phone, PDFs, email and basic spreadsheets
• Valid BC driver's licence
• Topcon GPS experience would be an asset
• Effective communicator with leadership qualities capable of motivating teams and managing multiple stakeholders

Pay: $100,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
