What they need

Join a collaborative team and grow your career in civil design.

Amey Australia is seeking a Civil Designer with land development experience to join our Perth team. Based in our centrally located Balcatta office, you'll enjoy a modern open-plan workspace, supportive team culture, well-stocked kitchen, and easy access to local cafés and lunch spots.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of residential subdivision and civil infrastructure projects while developing your career alongside experienced designers, engineers and project managers. If you enjoy delivering quality design work, solving technical challenges, and being part of a team that genuinely values collaboration, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

As a Civil Designer, you'll be involved across the full project lifecycle, from concept design through to detailed design and project delivery. Working closely with senior designers, engineers and project managers, you'll contribute to a diverse portfolio of urban development and infrastructure projects throughout Western Australia.

Why You'll Love This Role

  • Work on diverse projects across residential subdivisions, urban development and civil infrastructure.
  • Grow your technical expertise with mentoring and support from experienced industry professionals.
  • Enjoy real variety with involvement in every stage of a project's lifecycle, from concept through to construction-ready design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver civil design solutions across urban development and infrastructure projects using 12d Model as your primary design tool.
  • Prepare concept, functional and detailed civil designs.
  • Produce accurate, high-quality design documentation, models and technical drawings.
  • Undertake civil design and drafting using 12d Model and AutoCAD.
  • Prepare calculations, plans and documentation for submission to relevant authorities.
  • Review designs to ensure compliance with project specifications, standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, clients and stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including design standards, workflows and processes.
  • Support and share knowledge with junior designers and cadets where appropriate.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Approximately 4+ years' experience in civil design, ideally within land development and civil infrastructure projects.
  • Strong practical experience using 12d Model in a civil design environment.
  • Experience delivering designs across roads, stormwater, earthworks and related civil infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Ability to contribute to design delivery from concept through to detailed design.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality outcomes.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

Highly Regarded

  • Experience working within a consulting engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of local authority requirements and industry design standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Interest in mentoring and supporting the development of emerging designers.

The Team & Environment

You'll be joining a collaborative and supportive civil team that values practical thinking, open communication and teamwork.

There is no heavy hierarchy here. Our people work together, share knowledge freely and focus on delivering outstanding outcomes for clients. You'll have direct access to experienced professionals and leadership, providing excellent opportunities to develop your technical capability and progress your career.

Why Join Amey?

  • Opportunity to build a long-term career as the business grows.
  • Diverse and engaging project work with genuine variety.
  • Exposure to multidisciplinary projects and clients across multiple sectors.
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Ongoing professional development and career progression opportunities.
  • Flexible working arrangements to support work-life balance.
  • Annual Wellness Subsidy to support healthy lifestyle initiatives.
  • Birthday Leave and additional employee benefits.
  • Paid parental leave top-ups and milestone recognition.
  • Employee referral program.
  • Convenient Balcatta location with no CBD commute.
  • Strong focus on employee wellbeing, safety and professional growth.
  • Be part of a nationally recognised consultancy backed by a global organisation.
