Civil Draftsman - Construction

We are seeking an experienced Civil Draftsman to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant UAE experience, preferably with hands-on experience in high-rise building construction.

The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed civil and architectural drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings, while coordinating closely with structural, architectural, MEP, and site teams to ensure drawings are aligned with project requirements and construction progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil and architectural shop drawings using AutoCAD in accordance with approved design drawings, project specifications, and construction requirements.
• Prepare and update as-built drawings based on actual site conditions and completed works.
• Review architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings to identify discrepancies, clashes, and coordination requirements.
• Coordinate drawings with structural, architectural, and MEP disciplines to ensure proper integration and constructability.
• Incorporate comments and revisions from consultants, engineers, project managers, and site teams.
• Prepare drawings for construction, including plans, sections, elevations, details, and relevant layouts.
• Ensure drawings are accurate, clear, properly detailed, and issued in accordance with project standards.
• Maintain proper drawing registers, revisions, and documentation.
• Liaise with site engineers and construction teams to understand site requirements and incorporate necessary changes into drawings.
• Conduct site visits when required to verify dimensions, existing conditions, and completed works for as-built documentation.
• Support the project team in resolving drawing-related technical and coordination issues.
• Ensure all drawings comply with approved designs, applicable standards, project specifications, and authority requirements.
• Assist in maintaining an organised and up-to-date drawing/documentation system throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant UAE experience as a Civil Draftsman within the construction industry.
• Experience in UAE building construction projects is essential.
• High-rise building construction experience is highly preferred.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
• Proven experience preparing civil/architectural shop drawings and as-built drawings.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, detailing, and building construction practices.
• Experience coordinating drawings across civil, structural, architectural, and MEP disciplines.
• Familiarity with UAE construction practices, standards, and authority requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings accurately.

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Experience on UAE high-rise building projects.
• Experience working with main contractors or established construction companies.
• Experience coordinating multiple disciplines on large-scale projects.
• Knowledge of BIM/Revit in addition to AutoCAD.
• Experience with authority/consultant drawing submissions and approvals.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and site requirements.
