Civil Engineer

Role Description

We are looking for a technically capable and detail-oriented Civil Engineer to support the planning, design, development, and delivery of civil engineering projects. The role involves applying engineering principles, technical standards, and design practices to develop safe, practical, and efficient solutions across infrastructure, construction, structural, transport, drainage, or related civil works.

Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing engineering designs, drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation; assessing site and project requirements; coordinating with multidisciplinary teams; and supporting project planning, construction, and quality activities. The Civil Engineer will work closely with project managers, contractors, consultants, clients, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure engineering outcomes meet project requirements.

The role also involves reviewing materials and construction activities, identifying technical risks, supporting inspections and quality assurance processes, monitoring project progress, and contributing to improvements in engineering methods and project delivery. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical judgement, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, and professional engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, design practices, construction methods, and relevant technical standards.
• Ability to interpret and prepare engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
• Familiarity with engineering design and modelling software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other relevant tools.
• Understanding of project planning, construction processes, quality assurance, and risk management.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify technical issues and develop practical solutions.
• Good knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements relevant to civil engineering projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple technical tasks and priorities.
• Ability to review technical information objectively and make sound engineering recommendations.
