Civil Engineer

About the role

The Civil engineer is responsible for overseeing the construction process of data centers, mixed use developments and industrial projects, ensuring that all CSA packages are properly constructed in-line with local & international standards. This role involves coordinating with project teams, vendors, contractors, and clients to validate the reliability, efficiency, and safety of the project construction.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all on-site civil engineering activities including grading, excavation, foundations, drainage systems, roads, pavements, and utilities.
• Collaborate with design teams, contractors, and other engineering disciplines (structural, MEP, electrical) to ensure alignment of site work with overall project requirements.
• Ensure all civil works comply with project specifications, local codes, and safety regulations.
• Monitor and report on progress, quality, and compliance of civil works on a daily and weekly basis.
• Manage subcontractors and vendors related to site work and utilities.
• Conduct and document inspections, testing, and quality checks in coordination with QA/QC teams.
• Resolve site issues promptly and escalate complex challenges to project leadership when necessary.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction schedules.
• Assist in preparing RFIs, change orders, and technical reports.
• Participate in site meetings and contribute to planning and coordination of upcoming works.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably with at least 2 years on data center or high-tech facility projects (preferred).
• Strong understanding of civil site development and infrastructure.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting civil plans and CAD drawings.
• Familiarity with local civil engineering standards, codes, and permitting processes.
• Hands-on experience with construction site practices and contractor coordination.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
