The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to support the delivery of civil and structural engineering activities at a major operational energy infrastructure site in Moneypoint.

The role will cover the delivery of civil engineering services from feasibility and design through to procurement, construction and maintenance. Key areas include infrastructure maintenance and upgrades, structural steelwork, corrosion protection systems, drainage and environmental infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support civil and structural engineering activities across maintenance and construction projects.
• Plan, manage and supervise civil works and contractor activities.
• Manage civil/structural inspection and maintenance programmes, including:
• Drainage systems and interceptors
• Bund testing and upgrades
• Roof and louvre maintenance
• Jetty cathodic protection
• Chimney inspections and maintenance
• Ash handling facility inspections
• Troubleshoot civil and structural issues and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Manage procurement and execution of maintenance and construction contracts.
• Coordinate civil, structural and environmental engineering activities to deliver projects safely, to budget and programme.
• Manage site investigations, feasibility studies, design, consenting and construction inputs.
• Act as the civil engineering liaison for new infrastructure projects interfacing with the existing site.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Essential:

• Level 8 Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' relevant experience .
• Strong civil and structural engineering capability.
• Demonstrable onsite construction experience.
• Strong project management and commercial capability.
• Experience assessing and managing technical project risks.
• Full EU/EEA driving licence and ability to drive unaccompanied in Ireland.
• Legal permission to work in the Republic of Ireland.
