Civil Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a Civil Engineer to support the planning, execution and completion of our construction and solar-related projects. The role involves site supervision, coordination with contractors and consultants, quality control, progress monitoring and ensuring works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications and project schedules.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working both on-site and in the office and be able to independently monitor and resolve day-to-day site issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise civil and structural works at project sites.
• Monitor daily site activities, construction progress and workmanship.
• Ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements and relevant standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and other engineering disciplines.
• Review construction drawings and identify potential site or design issues before execution.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure defects or non-conforming works are rectified.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, manpower, materials and site progress.
• Prepare and maintain site reports, progress updates, inspection records and other project documentation.
• Assist in quantity checking, measurement of completed works and verification of subcontractor claims where required.
• Coordinate civil works associated with solar projects, including foundations, drainage, access roads, cable trenches, equipment bases and other related infrastructure.
• Ensure construction activities comply with safety requirements and site procedures.
• Assist with testing, inspection, handover and project completion documentation.
• Attend site meetings and provide technical input on civil engineering matters.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical and construction issues arising on site.
• Carry out other project-related duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply; candidates with construction or project-site experience will have an advantage.
• Basic understanding of civil construction methods, drawings and specifications.
• Able to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and project documentation is preferred.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple site activities.
• Willing to travel and work at project sites when required.
• Possess a valid driving licence and own transport is an advantage.
• Experience in solar, renewable energy, infrastructure or electrical construction projects will be an added advantage.
