Civil Engineer

About the role

Island Air Products Corporation (Island Gas) is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team in Pasay City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the design, planning, and execution of civil and structural engineering projects that support our operations. As a Civil Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and quality of our infrastructure developments whilst contributing to the strategic objectives of our organisation.

What you'll be doing

• Design and develop civil and structural engineering solutions for projects aligned with company requirements and industry standards
• Conduct site surveys, assessments, and feasibility studies to identify project requirements and potential challenges
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation using industry-standard software and tools
• Supervise construction activities and ensure compliance with approved designs, safety regulations, and quality standards
• Perform structural analysis and calculations to determine load-bearing capacity and material requirements
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery
• Conduct quality inspections and testing to verify that work meets specifications and safety standards
• Maintain comprehensive project records, documentation, and as-built drawings
• Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during design and construction phases
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise project outcomes and cost-effectiveness

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from a recognised institution
• Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent professional certification in the Philippines
• Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in civil or structural engineering
• Proficiency in engineering design software, including CAD, structural analysis programmes, and project management tools
• Strong knowledge of Philippine building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
• Demonstrated expertise in site management, project planning, and construction supervision
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in technical work
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines
• Experience in gas industry infrastructure projects or industrial facilities is highly desirable
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and best practices
