Civil Engineer

Basic Function:

Ensures that all cost estimates of existing precast products and facilities improvements are comprehensively prepared, submitted within the required timetable, and aligned with quality standards/processes being implemented in the production floor and the construction sites.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

1. Conduct end-to-end activities in aid of preparation and validation of project costing/project estimates, including but not limited to:
   a. site inspections & risk assessments
   b. scope of works and design
   c. cost computation
   d. material price updates
   e. preparation of shop drawings & design descriptions
   f. preparation of bill of materials formats
   g. validation labor and overhead budgets

2. Spearhead mini R&D activities particularly generating:
   a. cost-benefit analysis against market technologies
   b. value engineering of designs
   c. design costing / estimation
   d. presentation to Management
   e. prototyping
   f. manufacturability discussions
   g. risk assessments
   h. time-and-motion of labor
   i. site inspection parameters design
   j. coordination with structural engineers in design validation, if any
   k. alignment with Management / Accounting in the continuing standardized costing of new products.

3. Fulfill continuous evaluation and presentation of project costing versus actual, in aid of the regular submission of the job order monitoring report:
   a. SIR2 audit versus budgeted BOQ
   b. variation order analysis (additive-deductive)
   c. update of BOM formats
   d. update of labor budgets in aid of subcontracting works
   e. update of material prices and adjusting profitability targets
   f. change orders/change of designs, etc.

4. Participate in technical/clarificatory meetings with CLIENTS, to defend and/or clarify the product designs.

5. May be asked to create cost estimates for facilities renovations and/or in-house construction projects

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Required qualifications

• Must possess a College Degree in Civil Engineering
• With at least 5 years of working experience as a Civil Engineer/Quantity Surveyor
• With at least 3 years experience in a leadership position.
• With a valid driver’s license
• Willing to go on field and be office-based in Cabuyao for quantity surveying tasks
• Intermediate AutoCadd skills
• Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
• Proven reliability and excellent attendance record
• Honest and with integrity, no derogatory record

Preferred qualifications:

• Work experience is from reputable construction companies and B to AAA contractors
• With experience in structural computation - STAAD
• With experience in precast concrete manufacturing
• Excellent presentation skills
• With experience in client-facing BOM negotiations
• Mastery of Excel / Googlesheet spreadsheet creation and manipulation
