Civil Engineer

Modern Steel House Contracting LLC is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to manage and supervise the construction of G+4 residential and commercial buildings. The role covers site execution, quality control, coordination with consultants and authorities, and delivery of projects on time, within budget, and in line with approved drawings and UAE regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day site activities for G+4 structures, from excavation, shoring and foundations through superstructure, blockwork, plaster and finishing works.
• Review and interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings, and make sure all work is carried out according to approved shop drawings and specifications.
• Plan and coordinate site works, manpower, materials and equipment to meet the project schedule.
• Check reinforcement, formwork and shuttering before concrete pours, and coordinate inspections with the consultant.
• Prepare and submit RFIs, material submittals, method statements and inspection requests (IRs/WIRs).
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and the MEP team to resolve technical issues on site.
• Liaise with Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Civil Defence and other authorities for inspections, approvals and NOCs.
• Carry out quantity take-offs, verify subcontractor measurements and support preparation of interim payment applications.
• Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, and update the project schedule against actual progress.
• Enforce HSE standards on site and make sure all workers follow safety procedures.
• Monitor quality through testing (concrete cubes, soil compaction, etc.) and keep QA/QC records up to date.
• Support handover, snagging and de-snagging, and the preparation of as-built documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in building construction, with at least 3 years in the UAE on G+4 or similar mid-rise projects.
• Registration with the Society of Engineers – UAE (preferred).
• Solid knowledge of Dubai Municipality building codes and authority approval procedures.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project or Primavera P6, and MS Office.
• Strong ability to read structural and architectural drawings.
• Good communication and team leadership skills.
• Valid UAE driving license (preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with both RCC and steel structure buildings.
• Background with a contractor company (not only consultancy).
• Immediate joiners or candidates with short notice periods will be given priority.
