Civil Engineer - Design

A well-established engineering consultancy with a strong footprint across the South Island is looking for a Civil Engineer to join the design team in Timaru, Canterbury. One of their busiest offices.

The role:
You'll join a design team of 5, working on a genuinely varied mix of civil projects; Infrastructure, council roading, three waters, land development, greenfield and everything in between, from large-scale developments to straightforward "mum and dad" subdivisions. This is a hands-on, design-heavy position - the engine room of the team - with your work spanning from Ashburton down to the Mackenzie area. Depending on your experience and interests, there's scope to pick up some project management responsibility alongside the design work.

About you:

• Intermediate to senior civil engineering experience, with a strong design background
• Comfortable across a broad range of civil disciplines (roading, three waters, subdivision/land development)
• A relevant engineering qualification and NZ working rights
• Someone who enjoys variety and wants to be genuinely hands-on in the design process
• Strengths in 3D design tools and modelling software

You'll be joining a Timaru office of around 15–20 people, part of a wider multidisciplinary team of engineers, planners and surveyors with decades of South Island experience and offices across the region. It's a multicultural, diverse workplace where collaboration is part of the culture.
